A wedge is like an inclined plane, but they are used differently. A wedge is used for things like an axe, doorstop and shovel.
The guy with the axe is useing a wedge to cut through wood.
The guy with the shovel is useing a wedge to shovel snow.
The door though, just needs a doorstop which is also a wedge!
