An inclined plane is like a wedge. They both are helpful is some way or another. An example of an inclined plane is a ramp.

The guy is pushing the block up the ramp. Why is he pushing it up the ramp you may ask? Because he could lift it up the ladder, or push it up the stairs, but wouldn't that be a pain?
