Pushing and pulling is like pushing on a door, or pulling open a cupboard.
This is an example of pushing and pulling. This person is pushing a rock up a hill. They need to use more force to push up a hill because gravity is pulling down the rock. You have to use less force to go down a hill because gravity is pulling the rock down already
