The large intestine is called the large intestine because it has a larger diameter than the small intestine. Although it has a bigger diameter, it is much shorter than the small intestine. The crazy jobs this worm like tube does, is absorb water and remaining nutrients while exchanging waste from liquid to stool. Stool is a more scientific word for poop.
